Contract Overview

IAC MAC 2.0 is the next evolution of the Defense Technical Information Center’s (DTIC) longstanding Information Analysis Center program — one of the Department of Defense’s most enduring and heavily used research and technical services contracting channels. For decades, the IAC program has supported rapid research, prototyping, and technology transition across the DoD, enabling agencies to quickly access specialized expertise in emerging technologies, national defense priorities, and mission critical scientific domains.

With a projected $48 billion ceiling, IAC MAC 2.0 will continue this legacy by supporting 22 technical focus areas spanning cybersecurity, AI/ML, energetics, directed energy, advanced materials, C4ISR, and medical research. The vehicle is expected to streamline access to RDT&E capabilities, reduce procurement timelines, and expand opportunities for both large integrators and high performing small businesses.

IAC MAC 2.0 also reflects lessons learned from the current IAC MAC, including clearer pool structures, improved task order thresholds, and a stronger emphasis on compliance maturity and secure research environments.

IAC MAC 2.0 introduces a more structured pool system, including a dedicated small business pool for task orders ≤$15M, creating significant new entry points for emerging R&D firms.

Contract Delayed:

Considering the ongoing evaluating of the recent E.O. “Eliminating Waste and Saving Taxpayer Dollars by Consolidating Procurement,” there’s a reflective delay in the pre-solicitation meeting and the release of the final draft RFP for Army MAPS.

Notice to Industry – Cancellation

MDA has canceled the planned release of the MIOES RFP.
